The Friends of the Whyalla Conservation Park hold an annual sale of Australian native plants that are suited to the Whyalla area. The sale normally occurs each year on a Saturday morning in March.
The Friend's committee has decided not to hold a plant sale in 2008. The committee felt that the ongoing drought and resulting water restrictions would dissuade the Whyalla community from purchasing plants. We are aware that there is a large amount of development occurring in Whyalla and residents will be looking for plants for their gardens. Hopefully the drought may have eased and the water restrictions lifted or relaxed enough to enable a plant sale to occur in 2009.
Below are pictures of some of the plants that the group sell.
